So all credit to Eyecon for taking a slot that was as dated as ‘Gone with the Wind’ in the world of movies is and making enough changes to give us a version 2.0 of a slot that’s definitely worth a couple of hours of your time, and a few coins of your budget.
The design is a familiar one: a 5×4 reel slot with the ever-present playing cards acting as low-value symbols and a series of magical icons and props acting as the higher value ones. They include a blue orb, an ice lantern, a unicorn, a spell book and a bubbling cauldron. We mention the cauldron- root of many a magic potion- last, because it’s the highest paying symbol.
But that doesn’t make it the best symbol. That honour falls to the Wild, which unsurprisingly for a game called White Wizard (Deluxe) is…the White Wizard.
And this is no ordinary Wild as it does two somewhat unexpected things. Firstly, it expands to cover the whole reel which massively increases your chances of a win. Secondly, if you do secure a win with the help of that most friendly of Wizards, your win will automatically be trebled. Players should however be aware that he’ll only Expand and treble your wins when appearing on the first, third and reels. He’s just that sort of Wizard.
The one symbol we haven’t mentioned is the Blue Dragon. It can appear on any of the five reels but it’s on the third, fourth and fifth you want to be spotting this rare and enigmatic creature. If it appears on the last three reels, it will not only pay out at between 5 and 300x your stake, it will also start the free spins. 25 of them are coming your way and that’s where the magic really starts to happen.
