He fancies snorkelling, bungee jumping and surfing in an Australian (we’re just going by the accents in the game here) beach hotel and is looking for non-stop fun on his summer break. If you’re prepared to accept that this all sounds a bit ridiculous but that the slot is actually extremely good, then read on because we’re going to tell you all about this most unusual of hotels.

Rules

It’s a 6×4 slot which is pretty unusual in its own right. There are 4096 different ways to win and as per usual, you’re going to need three or more matching symbols from left to right on adjacent reels to get a payout.

Speaking of payouts, you don’t get much for the usual playing card symbols but there’s some decent cash coming your way of it’s three or more of the following you reel in: suntan lotion, flip flops, sunglasses or sunhats. And if all of the above generally protect you, then the highest-paying symbol certainly doesn’t: it’s the shark.

There’s a Scatter (which we’ll come to in a minute) and there are two Wilds. The first-the frozen Wild- tends to only appear when the random features or free spins are activated. It acts as a regular Wild on any slot, substituting for all symbols, bar the Scatter. The second the Yeti Wild- does a lot more than that. As we’re about to find out.

Tips and Strategy

There are three types of free spins in this slot and the good news is that it’s completely up to you as to which of the three you get to play. The bad news (if you like) is that it’s not entirely obvious as to which of the three is the most productive.

So, the advice is to try out the game in Freeplay mode first, try to activate the free spins as many times as possible and pick a different type each time. That way, when you come to play for real money, you’ll have a good idea of which type of free spins is going to lead to the biggest wins.

 Bonus Rounds

Two to speak of. One in the base game, another as a stand-alone bonus round. But in each case, there are three within each type. So even the most basic of maths tells us that’s actually six, rather than two.

Wild Yeti Modifiers

Whenever the Wild Yeti pops up on the reels, one of these three is coming your way. Which one you get, is random.

Bungee Jumping– Between one and four reels are stacked with Wilds.

Surfing– Between two and eight Wilds are added to random positions on the reels.

Scuba DivingHere you get a respin. Afraid of sharks? Don’t be.  If a Shark lands on the reels, you’ll get another, and another, if he appears again. There’s a maximum of 24 respins you can get. It’s rare, about as rare as a proper shark attack. But it can happen.

Free Spins

Three, four, five or six Scatters get you eight, 12, 16 or 20 free spins. Once you’ve nailed at least three, it’s time to pick which type you want. Here are your options:

Bungee Free Spins Feature– Between 1 and 4 Stacked Wilds are added with each Yeti that appears.

Surfing Free Spins Feature– When the Yeti appears, between two and eight extra Wilds appear in random positions on the reels.

Scuba diving A respin is awarded for each appearance of the Yeti. But the Shark (he does a lot more good than harm in this slot) also adds a respin each time he appears. Again, up to a maximum of 24 respins.

It’s worth knowing that on each free spin, at least one reel will double in the number of ways you can win on it. You can have up to six different pay way Multipliers to combine.  Free spins can be retriggered. As per the triggering of the round, you’ll need three or more Scatters for that to happen.

Design

Some slots just have a way of lifting your mood and getting you into a good vibe. And this is one of them. There’s a real holiday feel about it, the symbols are full of life and fun, there’s some cool Aussie-accented commentary to it all and the animations involving the Yeti scuba diving, surfing and bungee jumping are always worth looking forward to. It’s a game filled with holiday energy and humour and a good alternative to actually going on holiday.

 Final Thoughts

The original theme, design, symbols and bonus features, so lots of brownie points all over for that. We always like a slot with both base game and stand-alone features so credit to them for making a game that ticks those boxes, too.

However, just because it’s so light-hearted and chilled in nature, don’t be fooled. This is a highly volatile slot so expect big swings in your balance after playing it for a bit. But it’s very much in the ‘recommended’ category, either way.
