In truth, this game isn’t quite as basic as what you’d find back in the 1970s because it has a couple of pretty innovative features, but it’s not that far off!
It’s a 6×6 reel-slot, which is a bit unusual, and the symbols have clearly been designed by someone who knows their way around a Mac, rather than someone painting a few fruits on a sheet of A4 and getting them made into a one-armed bandits.
The reels are covered in Vitamin C with raspberries, blackberries, oranges and lemons. But let’s not forget that the slot’s name is Blazing Bells, so you shouldn’t be too surprised to discover that the bells are actually the highest-paying symbol of all.
Two or more adjacent symbols in a row from left to right reward you with a win and occasionally you’ll come across a special symbol (highlighted in gold) that can expand to four adjacent positions if it can create or improve a win.
Other special symbols are the Scatter, which when you get three or more of them lead to a free spins round of between 6 and 20 free spins, and the Wild, a diamond that substitutes for anything bar the Scatter.
But what makes the slot really interesting are the collapsing reels. Each win sees the symbols making it up disappear, replaced by others and each time this happens, the multiplier increases by 1x. By the time you secure four or five wins in a row, that multiplier on your next spin should see you secure something pretty…fruitful.
